At a certain point, caring for others becomes the only thing worth doing. When I attended my grandfather’s funeral there were so many folks there whose lives he had impacted. I want my funeral to be full of my friends and family and I want them to all have a story to tell when I made them smile. So, I’m working backwards. I’m centering my life around service. There is so much pain in the world and I know the answer now: Jesus. What about the name of Jesus keeps me coming back for more and more?
For me, it’s the answer to heal the pain of the world. I have spent my whole life seeking ways to help heal that pain in those around me. But I’m never strong enough. I don’t have enough money. I don’t have enough time. So I’m going to amplify my impact infinitely by switching tactics. I can and should still serve, give, and provide for everyone when I can so afford. But God is the provider and Christ is the path to God. I need Him every hour.
I am so overwhelmingly happy to know that I have found the key. The key to provide for others. Our world is falling apart because we are not following Christ. We need to be set free and who the Son sets free is free indeed. I can now go volunteer, donate, etc and if I speak the gospel I am giving them so much more than food and water but rather rivers of living water. It’s the most exciting thing I’ve ever found in my life. I hope that you might consider for yourself what the work and, by extension, the name of Jesus Christ means for you. Allow me to prompt your own discovery.
If you had the key to have access to God and all his beautiful power what would you do? Who would you help? For whom would you provide? It’s all there. I’m ending this article here. I have nothing else to say but to point to Him. See you in the Holy City 😉
